We had a large family gathering and the size and layout of the house were perfect. The bedrooms are all very nice. The porches and deck and large family rooms gave us plenty of space. I highly recommend this house.

Staying at Classically Current was a last-minute decision, we were lucky they had availability for when we went. The home is large and open and has plenty of flexibility in sleeping arrangements. We enjoyed the front porch and the large dining area where the whole family could eat. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need, and then some. Grill was great! The beach chairs were great, and it was nice to have a couple of options for floaties. The bikes were used all week! The home backs up to a beautiful park that was lit up in the evening. Walking to the beach and restaurants was easy. Perfect stay for families! The pictures really should be improved as the home has a wonderful charm like pocket doors and transom windows that have old hardware. My only disappointment is that there was what looked like a broken bowl with sea glass on a shelf and ended up being a broken shade from a lamp that we didn't even see. So make sure to look closely for anything that is out of place or damaged, as they don't always stay on top of this and then charge the wrong guest.

A lovely property updated to present day comforts without sacrificing its classic features. Perfectly sized and laid out for three generations to share. This was our second stay and we plan on returning.

The house was nice and well located but there was a pretty significant fruit fly issue. Also, the air conditioning on the second floor was broken. We alerted the property manager on Friday. They sent someone out to confirm there was an issue. He said they would reach out to an HVAC company to fix it but the issue was never resolved. 80 degree sleeping conditions in August were less than ideal.

This was our first visit to Cape Charles and it was spectacular. Classically Current was absolutely stunning - the pictures on the listing don't give the house the justice it needs! It has the most beautiful high ceilings, huge windows, character, fixtures, etc. etc.!! The front porch was beautiful and all of the amenities were perfect.

We had my whole family which included children under the age of 4, and 5 couples. The beds were comfortable (I'm 36 weeks pregnant, so that meant a lot to me!), and the rooms had great closet and dresser space. Having wood floors and high ceilings, the sounds echoed with many small children waking up early, so the ONLY con to this house was the noise with loud kids running around.

There are also lovely transom windows over the doors of most bedrooms on the second floor, which are beautiful, but they let in light from the hallway (especially when someone uses the bathroom at night) which was not ideal. If they could somehow be covered, that would fix the problem.

All rooms were very clean, including each bathroom. The kitchen was great and fully stocked with everything we needed except a coffee grinder, so be sure to bring your own! :) We loved the double oven and gas stovetop with the extra griddle burner. Our family cooked every meal from scratch, but there was enough space and felt comfortable.
We appreciated the beach towels, beach toys, and many nice beach chairs + umbrella, and blow up items for kids and babies especially - it was perfect for our family!
As for Cape Charles, since this was our first trip there, we were so happy to have a beach friendly to our young kids with tiny waves. We drove to the beach each day because there is always parking along dunes, and it was too hot for walking to (with young kids). Also, the park/playground behind the house was perfect! Overall, our stay was everything we could've hoped for. Jen with Chesapeake was very responsive and gracious. HIGHLY recomm

We enjoyed our stay in Cape Charles very much. We came for a family reunion and the house was perfect for our group. The house was in a great location and very well maintained and was just like we expected. When we had questions and needed the batteries changed in the smoke detectors Jen was very helpful and responsive.

We rented Classically Current for our daughters wedding and were very impressed with the beautiful restoration of the home. Everyone slept well, the house was more than described. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat! Jen at Chesapeake Properties was fabulous to work with and very easy to communicate with. Loved the experience we had on The Shore!
We had 6 adults and 3 toddlers and really liked this house. It was spacious and clean, with a great kitchen and outdoor space. Location was excellent--5 blocks to the beach, 2 blocks to the main street, and a great playground right behind the house. The only drawback for us was that the high ceilings and wood floors made the inside noisy--hard with napping kids. Overall we'd definitely recommend this house.

Wonderful experience at Cape Charles. THe house was outstanding - spacious, comfortable, plenty of rooms, amenities, etc. Also, dealing with Jen at Chesapeake Properties was a pleasant experience - she was very kind, friendly, and responsive to inquiries.

We had a wonderful time in Cape Charles at Bay Fever. Three families comfortable fit in this great house. We very much enjoyed the screened in porch and could listen to music from the park. Our kids loved being close to the park, an area for the sprinkler in the front yard, and walking to the beach. The house was very clean and well controlled temperature. The front porch was very shady and relaxing.

House was very clean, very roomy, conveniently located.

Only negatives were: No toilet paper, paper towels, or shower soap. Make sure you bring these.

Fantastic home with easy access to a fabulous beach for families with small children. The house was beautifully renovated and easily accommodated 12 of us. Great to have the AC in the sweltering heat of the summer and a great back porch with the fan to cool us down over dinner. The beach has beautiful sand and the water is extremely shallow for a large stretch, especially at low tide. We would definitely recommend for large family vacations!

I used this home for a corporate retreat in Cape Charles. The house is lovely and was perfect for us. The kitchen is updated and easy to cook in - we even did a team building exercise where we cooked an entire meal. There was enough room for the 7 of us to be in the kitchen working together. All bedrooms and bathrooms are updated and comfortable and the front porch is a great place to have morning coffee or a cocktail at the end of the day.

Our group of 9 ladies loved this home during our CBES cycling weekend.

Our experience at Bay Fever more than met our expectations. There are plenty of spaces to relax on one's own, and in the company of others. We especially loved the spacious front porch with it's comfortable rockers and chairs. The kitchen is "to die for." Everything we needed to prepare meals was at our fingertips. Everybody loved their comfy bedrooms, and slept like babies. We would not hesitate to book BAY FEVER again, and will recommend it to anyone inquiring about rentals in Cape Charles.

Our family of 10 stayed 7 days in August 2015 in this beautifully renovated
home. It was spotless, located within easy walking to the beach and we especially appreciated its proximity to the town park where the children could ride their bikes. The kitchen/dining areas are super. Overall an awesome rental.

Everything about our stay, was fabulous! The home is beautiful, an old Pensylvania Railroad home, I believe. Nicely restored, it backs up to a great park and it's a short walk to the beach, on a beautiful street. Anything not perfect, is too trivial to mention. We had 10 people, not one complaint. The house is better than the photos. The porch is wonderful, for morning coffee and/or an evening glass of wine; there was fresh mint growing in the backyard, we picked a sprig or two for tea. From first contact, Jen @ Chesapeake Properties was great to work with & could not have been any better, so customer service was excellent. I will definitely recommend this property & would love to return. Some of the group made a day trip to Assateague, and one to Kiptopeake, a few of us stayed in Cape Charles the entire time. Very relaxing, in all the best ways.

The house was beautifully renovated. The screened-in back porch and open front porch had an incredible breeze, which made for lovely evenings and mornings. The amenities in the house were great (we were able to cook anything and everything we wanted because the kitchen had all the appliances and cookware one could need). The house is only four blocks to the beach and one block to the cute little shopping area. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely rent this house again. Our only complaint was that the management company was slow to respond to a plumbing emergency (it was related to the renovation and we were able to turn off the water to the affected area). The leak happened in the evening and the management company said they would come early the next morning. They called late morning to say they would come in the afternoon. That meant a person in our party wasted a morning sitting at home, which was frustrating.
